Well, it worked. Thanks to certain cowardly conservative media personalities; Sarah Palin, and Matt Drudge. Sacha Baron Cohen’s Who is America has finally gone viral.

Sarah Palin complained about the show claiming that she was duped by Sacha. “Feel better now?” started Palin on Facebook. She claims many other well known media personalities were also duped by Sacha. This was a response to Matt Drudge who warned about Who is America on twitter hours earlier. It’s interesting that Who is America has gone viral when barely any information is known about the show. There’s speculation that it might be a revival of Da Ali G Show.

The official teaser for Who is America goes something like this: “it will explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation.” Cohen has reportedly sat down with Dick Cheney, OJ Simpson, and now we know Sarah Palin.

Seems to me that Showtime was right to gamble on Sacha, and the show hasn’t even aired yet. Media personalities are scared and it’s not even clear of what. Showtime says they are not looking for gotcha moments, that the show has morsels of truth buried inside the satire. In all fairness the show could suck, but somebody is scared of Sacha, and he could turn into a mainstream hero by taking down this new breed of establishment.
