You’ve probably heard by now that Star Trek Discovery has been renewed by CBS All Access for a second season! Much to the shock of haters everywhere. It’s a momentous victory over the establishment and it’s one step closer towards CBS’ goal of competing with Netflix and HBO.

So with two successful shows on it’s online streaming platform, The Good Fight and Star Trek Discovery. CBS All Access is becoming a franchise building powerhouse! But what about the future? CBS has little room for failure what with their major cop serial shows slowing down. NCIS is on it’s last legs and Criminal Minds can’t last forever.

Star Trek Discovery’s success is paving a bold new future for the franchise and it’s obvious that future is going to be online. If All Access wants to be the go-to destination for trekkies and perhaps other Science Fiction franchises, then it needs MORE! Both NCIS and Chicago at one point had four different spinoffs. Due to Discovery’s awesomeness and money-making success there is no reason why Paramount and CBS can’t put on another Star Trek show at the same time. Perhaps copy Dick Wolf’s Chicago scheduling. So that there is a Star Trek type show on all year round!
