Netflix has high hopes for the Simpson’s Matt Groening’s new comedy. Making a major investment in the series called Disenchantment. It will be set in a medieval fantasy land which will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess.
Netflix ordered two seasons of the show and both seasons will be 10 episode each. “Ultimately,” says Groening, “Disenchantment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.”
Disenchantment had been in development at Netflix for more than year and a half because creating an animated series is a time-consuming process. Netflix has been expanding its animated series recently with the popular BoJack Horseman including the upcoming Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs And Ham.
