Maroon 5 is creating a TV show. Since being released more than two years ago. Sugar has tallied up an impressive 2.5 Billion hits on Youtube. So much so that Lead Singer Adam Levine, decided to use the streaming platform to turn the song into a TV show.

Sugar has inspired Maroon 5 to create an eight episode TV series that is inspirational. The series will feature celebrities or artists as they surprise fans who have given back to their community in different ways. Sugar seems to be in the same crop of feel good TV as Undercover Boss.

The celebrities will do the same thing Maroon 5 did in the Sugar video. Which has made an impression around the world. They will give pop-up performances and “crash” special events of their biggest fans. Maroon 5, Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth, Kelly Clarkson, A$AP Ferg, 5th Harmony and Bad Bunny are slated to appear in the show. As far as I am aware, this is the first time a song has inspired a TV show. If anyone knows of any other songs that have been turned into TV shows, let me know in the comments below.

We’ll see if Youtube can use the 2.5 Billion hits from Sugar to turn this new show into a commercial success like it did with Kobra Kai.
