This past week, CNN’s Jake Tapper solidified his place in media history with the likes of Charlie Rose, Walter Cronkite, and Woodward and Bernstein. He didn’t do it by exposing some secretive scandal, breaking some earth-shattering news, or simply announcing things.

He did it, by taking the world on his shoulders and he gave it an enema. “You’re Lying.” He famously called out Kellyanne Conway on his show last week, something no one had actually thought of before, and this is the thing that Jake Tapper gets. This is the thing Jake Tapper has always done.

Perhaps, the SNL skit that crucified his seemingly chummy relationship with Kellyanne Conway, was the thing that got to him the most. Whatever, the case, in the age of alternative facts Jake Tapper is on a mission to hunt for the truth. Non-partisan but combative, in his own unshrill like way, a trap that way too many of his colleagues fall into. Jake Tapper frequently finds himself in battles with the Trump Administration that has the newsman going viral for the first time in his distinguished 20 year career as a journalist.

Since he banished Trump Adviser and Chief Liar Kellyanne Conway, to the time-out corner never to be seen from since, Jake Tapper has been on a role! Booking top spots on Late Night TV shows like Conan, Colbert, and Seth Meyers is usually reserved for the likes of big name talent, celebrities, and pundits. Not reporters! Did Tapper just give the world the self-correction it needed? Are facts once again relevant?
