At the Fox upfront today, Fox said that they like LA to Vegas enough, but that it might be a bit too small for them to continue with it. Indeed the tight knit ensemble airplane comedy with some of the best one-liners around has the wings to grow.

It automatically has airline people as fans. So why not expand to other parts of the airline? I’m not talking about a second plane, since that would be too obvious. They could branch out to TSA agents, the Lost and Found (which was already touched upon), Baggage Claim or limo drivers, and the crazy hi-jinks competitions between pilots. That’s just some of my ideas. If they wanted to go farther they could do more episodes in Las Angeles as well as actual on-scene locations in real Las Vegas casinos, which would be a great marketing opportunity.

But what if they are interested in building up the LA to Vegas brand already? I once made the joke that Fox’s line-up is pretty empty right now, and all the characters have interesting story-lines that could spark pretty funny spinoffs all their own. Whatever the case may be, internal discussions about the future of the show are being worked out right now.
