Ron Howard is making a bold statement with the Genius Franchise. Genius is not just about scientists. In his quest to celebrate geniuses from all walks of life, Pablo Picasso fits right in with Albert Einstein.

The older troubled physicist was wonderfully portrayed by Geoffrey Rush, while Johnny Flynn gave an Emmy-worthy performance playing the younger curious Einstein.

As the credits rolled on Genius Season 1, they announced that the series will return in 2018, but deliberately left out who the subject of the next season would be. Deadline reported that the producers didn’t want to reveal Picasso until the next day because they didn’t want to take away from the finale.

The truth is everybody knows Pablo Picasso for his paintings, but nobody knows the man.
