If you thought Pokemon was going to go away anytime soon. You’d be dead wrong. It’s not just one of the most successful franchises in history, it’s also never really seen dips in sales. 2016 has been a particularly generous time for Pokemon and it’s fans, with the introduction of Pokemon Go upending the gaming industry with Mixed Reality gaming at it’s best.

Pokemon Go reminded everyone, that Pokemon is a world-renowned brand that has not waned in popularity. As new generations of kids discover the pocket monsters that first popped up on screens in 1996 this sparks rumors that Disney should be looking at purchasing Nintendo outright. Perhaps as a test run Disney XD has signed a multi-year deal for the Pokemon TV series which will now focus on the new games Sun & Moon.

As Pokemon celebrates twenty years of being Nintendo’s top earning franchise, the interesting partnership certainly raises eyebrows. As the Mouse-House looks to pretty much be the world’s only king of content, as it eyes Netflix and has already bought Star Wars and Marvel. Is there no escape? That or Bob Igor is the ultimate geek!
