After cooling down the speculation that she was thinking about running for President, Oprah has decided to take her talents to Apple. Oprah is one of the most famous faces on TV who is responsible for shaping the culture of millions of Americans, if you don’t believe me, just check out the ratings for her show in it’s heyday.

The (nearly) trillion dollar company is hungry for content as a new content war is being waged in Hollywood. The Oprah deal is not exclusive to the tech company however, because Oprah still runs her OWN network. It sounds like Oprah will not only create shows for Apple but also relaunch the show that is her claim to fame; The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The interesting part of the deal is that Oprah will be “host and interviewer,” on top of producing and creating content for Apple. It appears that Oprah is launching her own cable news show as part of the package and that her 60 minutes appearance earlier this year was a testing ground of sorts to get her ready for the Apple platform. Oprah could also stand in as a TCM narrator type or a Chris Hardwick-type to drill down episodes for fans.

Whatever the case may be, in the media world. You can’t say Oprah doesn’t know what she is doing.
