The creators of the emmy-winning anthology series which tackled the trial of OJ Simpson in its freshmen season, are quietly and busily working behind the scenes in order to make it into a powerful franchise.

The second installment of the series will focus on Hurricane Katrina and the various problems people faced in the crisis. It will air later this year.

The third installment will focus on the 1997 murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace. It will also air later this year.

The fourth installment in the works will focus on the fallout of the affair between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. This season will probably air in 2019.

FX appears to be positioning American Crime Story to be a long standing powerful franchise that could stay on the air for a long time to come.
